Final video feedback
In terms of genre, we were told that our music video was fairly typically indie. We'd like to think our influences are somewhat more diverse, but i guess it's true.

We filmed our video! It was mostly succesful. We didn't feel the need to bring our shot list and storyboard, as we decided that we would benefit from a more organic and spontaneous feel. They weren't really a necesity anyway; as the shots we wanted to take were all fairly generic band video style shots of pans, close ups on instruments and close ups on the singer. And most of the effects we needed to achieve, we can do in the editing process: we just wanted to get enough footage to have a varied choice from. We shot the song twice at half speed and at full speed three times so that we could rule out any anomalies in the performances. Shamefuly, we could not film in the larger studio, as it was buisy, so we couldn't film the cut-aways of the band on the sofa. If we are lacking footage for the rough cut, we could allways go and film the bits on the sofa in a different location, wearing the same clothes etc...
Overall i think the filming of are music video for Dead 60s - riot radio was successful, we had organised to hire out a recording studio room, in Cambridge called Mullet Boy Studios (New Market Road) we paid for 2 hours use of the studio. We used this time to film our music video inside the studio. After our two hours had ended when went to locations in Cambridge which we were going to film more sequences for the final video.
We are not going to use the roof, no matter how bitchin' it would be. The skylight to the roof, through which we would be taking all our stuff cannot fit a bass drum through. Bum Nuggets.
For a music video we need a band... ah! and we have one! They are called 'The engineers'

Looks like we're using the Dead 60s now. Yes.
We have a very good idea of stucture for our sequence! No dought our ideas will evolve to be more complex and effective as we move further towards the shoot but this is a rough idea of what we are intending to do.
'Love Killer' by 'The Foxes' is a fast paced, tightly produced, high energy raucus indie track, for this reason we feel that it suits a fast paced editing style. We plan on using a variety of close ups of individual instruments, and the singer and long shots from a low angle, which will compliment our location.
This is The Foo Fighters video for 'monkey wrench'! this is a bangin example of a performance based video which gives us plenty of examples of how to use camera work, costumes, editing and colour throughout the video. another thing this video does is provide us with a visual narrative which tells a story! we are not looking to try and tell a story in our video but we are looking to use cut aways throughout our video that appear to make sense... but when u ask someone 'what happened?' they will go 'urm not really sure if im honest... But i reallllly enjoyed it!!!' cut aways will make the video hold our audience, give us more material/footage. this makes fast cuts possible and due to the high tempo of the song we think this is very important! overall cut aways will make our video more
To create the proper effect we would need, we would have to record the band playing the song at about half speed and then speed it up.
Test shots are cool. Here's one we made earlier.
We decided that not only would it be mega cool to play with speeds in our video, but it would also look pretty bitchin'.
The Engineers are a local band and are by far the BEST performance based band in THE WORLD! (execpt barbie and the plastics but they were unavailable on a thursday which would be inconvenient!... which is a shame).
if i told u that we were personally given them buuy the singer... THAT WOULD BE A LIE!!! so dont belive us... or... any other group (50) that they did!!! a source is a source ay!!!
Golima!
